Who is your favorite clinician?

That is so true, rancher (about the people, not the boy horses! LOL) ... I'm lucky enough to know a couple of them, and there is NO indication by their interactions here that they compete at the level that they do. Normal people who are more than happy to help and encourage others in their pursuit of horsemanship. :)

Greeless, I never noticed it but you are correct about the horses on Paralli's show, they do look happy. However I thought those happy ones were the boy horses looking at Mrs Parilli. About knowledge, training and ability with horses: There are several professional trainers and some competition riders at the pro level on this site. Most are not aware of who many of them are because they are good enough at what they do, to do it without tooting their own horn.

His original post was pretty rude, I agree with boot. Alot of his posts tend to be that way... kind of holier than thou. Perhaps he doesn't mean it that way, but that's how it comes across. I would imagine it's his competitive nature, which makes him successful in the competitive world of his chosen discipline. Unfortunately, it doesn't translate well into the world of the everyday horseperson who wants to expand their knowledge and abilities and take advantage of the clinicians to achieve that. Most of us are always seeking knowledge and will probably never be as qualified as Mr lazy is to discount those with more knowledge and experience. It's so much nicer to read posts that express a different opinion TACTFULLY... as the old saying goes about sugar vs vinegar. :)

Just, Mr Lazy changed his post..he originally stated he would not attend that due to her promoting black and white paint....yes..am aware that he rides competively and that is wonderful Just.but...let me assure you..that does not make him above anyone else...his sarcasm is uncalled for....you are entitled to your opinion and I respect that....as I am entitled to mine..and I am one that dislikes belittlement to others because they are not in the same so called click as he!!!..

I have attended several if many clinics given by Buck Branaman, Ray Hunt and Bryan Nuebert. They all offered me the same message as Buck and Bryan both worked with Ray Hunt and Tom Dorrance in the past, and sometimes packaged a different way which helped me. Here in the Midwest there was always a void of true horsemen and a boat load of hacks. So I was greatful (my horses too) to have my eyes opened by these men. I like Buck's videos and clinics which are very understandable from the beginner to the advanced horseman. I also like Ray's directness, honesty which is how he rides his horses. Finally, I like Bryan who worked with Tom Dorrance and brings that Dorrance-like gentleness and willingness to find the answer on each horse. Bryan is an expert with mustangs as well as ranch horses. So these three get my vote.

No, Lazyt isn't "rude to everyone sooner or later" He's never been rude to me in these many years of batting topics around. While you ladies are at clinics watching horses , he's at competitive events riding/showing his horses. If a gal is brave enough to invite a guy to meet her on an open forum board it certainy isn't rude for him to say no on the board. He simply stated the truth, he doesn't go to those type events...his time is better spent training his horses. Actually, I think lazyt handled it pretty well...I sure wouldn't be happy if a guys tried to arrange a meeting with me in the message room . Rue

Thanks, Bootcut, that has been needed for a long time. Gressless, I will watch for Ms. Trindle. I am always open for new techniques. Lazytsha is rude to everyone sooner or later, so don't let it bother you. Runswithhorses, you and Gressless are so right about Pat. I highly recommend attending one of his clinics. I have been to many of them, and they are pure enjoyment, plus you will learn a lot! A friend came over today and we "tried" to trim my yearling filly's feet. What a day! I am sooo tired. She did not want any part of that! We persisted, tho, and got her used to the rasp, and will leave the nippers to another day. I kept thinking, how would Pat & Clinton do this?? LOL - that kept us from loosing our tempers! Vicky

I agree with you gressless, about Parelli. I don't watch Parelli, I watch the HORSE that he's working with start to respond with trust and confidence. Sure he talks too much, but how boring would it be to just watch him do what he's doing without the talk? He doesn't need to talk to the horse to get the results he wants... the horse doesn't 'get' the corny jokes, stories, etc. That's all just filler for us to give him the time he needs to accomplish what he's working for. I personally don't know if I could handle an entire weekend of listening to him... lol It's only a segment of time on RFD-TV. But I love to watch the horses response.
