I have a friend in the process of developing rubber horseshoes that are fastened on with crazy glue. Its been patented and will be produced shortly. Its perfect for trailrides when your horse throws a show,,, or at a show when a regular one comes off.... it sounds really awesome. It has been developed by a farrier here in Okla. And not to be confused with other rubber shoes with metal shoes inside them.......

Just wondering... how well do the Easy and other boots work on mules?

Many of the endurance riders I know of locally let their horses go barefoot when possible - but with some of our rocky trails - Easy ( or other brands) boots are a must. (Course, never saw a mustang wear one, lol.)

Iam a firm believer in correct shoes. Some of the surfaces I ride on would never ask a horse to do barefoot, that would be cruelty as far as Iam concerned. And I agree with you on the angle not only do you lose speed but also balance. Rode one out of balance ONE TIME!!!!! Guess what he came out of that run missing the left foreleg!!!! I don't know how I made that trip ALIVE!!! So for me this is a very serious lifethreatning issue. I not only believe in providing my horse with protection but also myself. Sometimes what seems to be the nicest thing to do is not always the kindest. Think about it. You can always pad the shoe for shock absorbtion.

Shoes don't exist on my place. The frog spine/frog was made to flex. JMHO. Putting a shoe on that doesn't flex is like welding your truck/trailer at the hitch. This was all confirmed when I had an opportunity to watch a hoof be disected. Since this, I have learned a lot about hoof angles and have realized a lot of us (including myself) are quilty of letting our hooves become too wide at the base even though they "look" good. Think about the function of the frog...

I THINK WE ALL NEED TO PAY MORE ATTENTION TO HOOF ANGLES , THE IMPORTANCE IS VERY REAL , THIS IS WHY MOST HORSES GET SORE THEY ARE TOTALLY UNBALANCED , TRY KNOCKING ONE OF YOUR HEELS OFF YOUR BOOT AND WALK AROUND FOR HALF A DAY MUCH LESS MOST OF YOUR LIFE !!!!!!!! I WILL BET YOU WILL BE SO SORE THE NEXT DAY YOU WONT EVEN WANT TO GET OUT OF BED!!!!! THAT OLD GARBAGE OF IL SHOE HIM NATURALLY IS JUST THAT GARBAGE !!! IF A FARRIER SHOWS UP TO SHOE WITH OUT A GAUGE AT MY PLACE HE CAN GO DOWN THE ROAD !!! IT IS PROVEN FACT THAT A HORSE THAT IS 2 DEGREES OFF IN ANGLE IN A MILE RACE WILL COST HIM 2LENGTHS IN A RACE , PRETTY AMAZING , THIS WAS DONE BY BIOMECHANICS RESEARCH SO ITS NOT GARBAGE , THINK ABOUT IT!!!!! WE NEED TO GET CURRENT DAY METHODS INSTEAD OF INJURING OUR HORSES FURTHER. HAVE A GREAT DAY , RACETRAINER
