Boa Horse Boots vs Cavallo Hoof Boots vs Old Mac's

I want to know how easy they are to put on, because we all know the "Easyboots" are not! lol But I ALSO want to know how well the horses performed with them on? Just trail riding. I want something to put on my horses when I hit rocky trails last minute. Otherwise I can ride them barefoot. They have pretty tough hooves. My Arab does not and would also like a pair for him. Thanks for all your input so far!! WBR Lea

I have used the easy boot and you are right not so easy. Several people I know have used others and we all seem to agree the Cavallo is by far easier to get on and remove. Good Luck

I have used Boas, Old Macs, and Easy Boots. The Easy Boots, are NOT easy, especially to remove. I have tried them after removing the plate with the teeth, but I'm not sure how well they would stay on. They are very compact, which is a plus. The Boas and Old Macs are more bulky. The Boa boots were easier to fasten and more compact than the Old Macs, so the Boas are my choice. My horse is barefoot, and it is pretty rocky where I ride, and they have been great. I have used the Boas with packing to treat an abscess and they worked fine. I removed them and changed the dressing every other day and they were on continuously for a 2 week period with no ill effects.

I have used Old Macs for years and find they are the best when it comes to convenience, fit etc. You can put foam in the bottom and use them when a horse is laminitic. They are easy to put on and remove. My horses are barefoot and the boots work well if you are riding on rocky ground. I don't have any experience with the other types. There is nothing "Easy" about an Easy Boot.

Has anyone ever used these? I had an easy boot at one time and HATED it. Never could get it to fit right...any other suggestions for horse boots?
