Horse friendly fencing..Need help

....OMG! I will be fencing in a new 20 acres soon and never dreamed it would cost so much!! Wow, fencing has gone up in the past 6 yrs.!! Thanks for the post, I now know what I have to look forward to! Vicky

Non climb horse wire with boards on top, posts like she said above. and i had mine done here 24 acreas for 18,000.. hmm ..but it was worth it . impossible for me to do it myself . hot wire across top . good luck. you can also use the metal temp poles if money is tight. and the electric tape.

I just did mine with no climb woven wire (2"x4" rectangles). It's the best since they can't get a foot in it. Used wood posts 8' apart and then strung rope electric on top and 1/2 way down because my Haflinger loves to lean, paw and rub on fences. It was around 10,000. for 2 2 and 1/2 A pastures without a common fence line. Half was labor though so, do it yourself for alot less. Good luck, Anne

Need help...Just bought a ranch and it has barb wire on it from the cows. I need to re-fence it to make it horse friendly. Ideas on materials and or distributors in Texas..Anything is appreciated..
