The original wounds were from just below the hocks to the fetlocks on both legs. Degloving all the skin and going down to the bones exposing them, muscle and tendon damage. He is sound but struggles a little bit to canter but getting better. All that is left is for the skin to finally finish healing. Approximately 2inches in diameter is left. Very pink and does bleed. On my profile it is the black pony with the bandages on.

I have had incredible results with massage therapy and also keeping the cut area soft with Palmer's Cocobutter. Amazing results where the cut healed 3x as fast as before and the horse returned to barrel racing It depends on what the cut involved though

http://www.underwoodhorsemedicine.com/ I have seen this stuff perform a miracle or two. This is all I use now.....I believe the trick is to not touch /wash the wound etc...just spray the stuff on and throw the baking powder on..it will bubble off the bad stuff...Hope this helps...

Pearl look on the home page under articals, there is a link to the Brighterdays Horse Refugee, Mail Jennie she has delt with just about all of these kinds of things, and has learned many "tricks" she should be able to help you. Another note Jennie is from the UK, married an airforce feller, she would be glad to hear from you. Good luck with all of this.Bill AKA Hoss69

Hello Not done anything like this before but i am at a loss as what to do next. I am in need of help or advice to do with our pony Bengie the Brave. We rescued him in Dec04 with horrible wounds to his back legs. It turned out he had been caught up in barbed wire in the summer 04 and the owners had just left him like that. We have got most of the wounds healed but the right hind has stopped healing now. Even our vet is at a loss as to what to do next. He has even suggested a skin graft. The pony has been through a lot but has a wonderful temperament. My daughter is devoted to him. If anyone can give me any advice or suggest a product to use i would be most greatful. We are limited as to what we can import into the UK due to EU rules and regulations. I can send pics of his legs if anyone thinks they can help but needs to see them first. I and my daughter would appreciate it if anyone can help us. Regard Michelle
