I can't help but agree w/you Rancher, he is entertaining in a dumb way... and you know some people swallow it, hook, line & sinker! As for Paris, that is what I named my new filly! She is sooo cocky & cute, blond, etc. so we finally came up w/Paris! LOL We trimmed her feet for the first time last weekend, and whoaaa what an experience for her! She got a few Parelli/Anderson lessons and is much better behaved for it. Now I am looking for a bareback saddle or old kids saddle for her to wear. That should be interesting! Vicky

I like to watch that fool just to see what he will do next. I have decided my favorite clinician is Paris Hilton.

I saw another episode of Ryan Gingrich w/a gray barrel horse "prospect". Did anyone else see this? I do not like his ground work -- when you tap a horse on the leg w/a whip to the point the horse runs backward, afraid of you, what are you accomplishing? Putting "fear" not "respect" in this horse does not improve their relationship, and I don't think it makes any sense for the horse to know to come forward when hit w/the whip. He should come forward when asked, for the release of pressure. Constant tapping is not a release, but the horse learned to step forward. I guess any horse can be taught this, but I don't think he is communicating w/the horse, only imposing his "demands". Vicky

I have used Clinton Anderson's methods (adapted to me lol) with my filly and she has responded great! She will handle most situations better than a 10 year old horse (she is 2 1/2, 3 by aqha rules) and already will work off leg pressure only or neck rein. I like that he shows several different ways to do each thing as not all work with each horse.

Favorite? Some are unknown that I have just happened upon. Buck Brannaman, he will be doing some clinics starting soon again, I heard. Read his books, they are good for anyone, not just "horse people", particularly "Faraway Horses". Check out Jeff Holzer on www.respectandresponse.com, his website name says it all.

i know lots of folks that watch these clinicians and trainers and they're tapes and never seem to get much better at horsemanship. the problem with this it seems to me after talking to some folks is, they havn't spent enough time with horses to understand what is taking place. they are looking for magic, or the "secret",.. time spent is what makes good horses. several have already said it, it's, "wet saddles blankets," and time. patience, feel, timing and balance. if you know who preaches those words than you probably know who i look up to. g.

I just got home today and turned on RFD. Yet ANOTHER new clinician-- Ray Ainsworth. I've sat here for the last 25 minutes and 20 minutes of that time has been him selling EZALL and his videos, eq't etc repeating the same thing over and over. He is doing exactly what Clinton Anderson does, but definitely doesn't have the charisma that CA does.

In watching the RFD TV program with Ryan G and the paint. The problem I saw was the way he positioned himself directly in front of the horse, you could tell she was unsettled, very jumpy, she looked like she would lung forward at any time. As a rule most horse handlers will stay to the side of a horse in that situation. It did seem strang that he didn't.
