Good save admin..There are probably lots of products that will make burr removal a little easier but WD 40 gets it done for us. We have a big problem with burrs and a decent comb and WD works pretty easy.

I have to agree with runswith.. Cowboy Magic Detangler!! I've used this for years, just rub it on, let it set a few minutes to soak in and PRESTO... out they come! I have a horse with a very long mane that gets what I call "rainropes" from our 1derful Washington weather.. I goop these use and wait a few, they unravel pretty easy! The only drawback may be the price, but for my babies, it's worht it! Julianne

I have found that Vetrolin concentrated detangler works the best. It stays in for days, and helps repeat offenders.

Use the cooking spray "Pam". It works wonders!!!!!!

Rubber gardening gloves work wonders, too, as I found out. They grip the burrs and your fingers don't get all torn up, plus those flakes can't get into your hands :) One more tail to go and I'm DONE!

Use some baby oil in the manes and tails. The burrs soften and come out easily.
