Today is OUR day!
A few years ago, while living/working on a small ranch in Colorado, where I was a guide and outfitter, I was seeing a Lady who lived in Colorado Springs. One day, while visiting I met her daughter, who was a former computer program in the U.S. Air Force. Her rank was 1st Lieutenant. In a conversation she told me her "job" wasn't as important as mine. So, I told her my perspective on uniformed service.
Regardless of branch, we ALL stand on a wall between the United States and those that would do harm to our country, and the people. And that if you wear a uniform, salute the Flag, and do your "job," you are part of a team. I then explained that I, and others like me, couldn't do OUR "job" without you. It's a team effort, and it takes all members of the Armed Forces to do our job of defending the United States.
So, regardless of your military specialty, whether it's as a computer operator, truck driver, clerk, or cook, you are part of that team! So be proud of your service.
As a career Special Forces Soldier, I give great thanks to those who weren't part of the "Tip of the Sword," but who made it possible for me to do my "job." Thank you!!
