Just checking in to say "HI" to all my old friends on ES. It's been 8 1/2 years since I married my cowboy, and we're still going strong. Life threw us a few curves since the wedding, but we handled them with team work. We bought another property that had been neglected for 6 years, and spent the next few years getting that cleaned up, a barn built, fences mended, and things fixed up around here. My elderly mother in Ohio was diagnosed with early stage dementia, so we moved her down here to TX. to live for the last 5 years of her life. She passed a few months before her 97th birthday 2 years ago. I bred my old stallion, Oracle, to a QH mare, and got a gorgeous 1/2 Arab buckskin colt in 2012. This spring, I had to put Oracle down due to kidney failure at age 33. He lived a long and happy life and I was blessed to have him for 30 of those years. Recently, I bought a new stallion, a black Straight Egyptian 6 yr. old that knew very little in the way of being trained to do anything but lead and ride in a trailer. I've had him about 40 days and he's coming along really well. My plans are to get him started under saddle and show him in the spring, as well as go on some "bucket list" camping/riding trips. I am also leasing a mare of the same bloodlines to breed to him in the spring. I hope to breed him to the same Creamello QH mare for another 1/2 Arab foal, too. I still enjoy going to the Stockyards to listen to good music, dance and shoot pool. If someone wants to join me in planning/hosting an ES get together, I'm all for it! I've got too many irons in the fire to keep track of everything going on with the ES msg. board/website, but I'd be happy to be the "local" person in putting something together for the ES group if they want to gather up someplace and reunite again! You can reach me on my FB page/Jacquie Glasscoe Choate, and let me know what your thoughts are about this. Happy trails, y'all!
